The Amazing SmartValve MKII
This is the very same valve that is used in the Autopot self watering systems. The SmartValve MKII is capable of sub irrigating up to four large plants when used in a suitable tray and connected to a low pressure (<8 psi) water source through it's 1/4" compression fitting. For more information on how the Smartvalve works, Click Here The Smartvalve operates by first flooding the tray with approximately 1" of water/nutrient solution at which point it will then wait for the plants to consume the nutrient before it re-floods the tray with a fresh batch of solution. In this fashion, the Smartvalve automatically cycles your plants through a complete wet/dry cycle much like natural rainfall. Refer to product image for illustration of this cycle.
